Owl Poster Inside and Outside.

This week we were learning about what language Julia Donaldson. We had to make a sort of Poster on the Character we were given the inside of them and the outside of them. I learnt that Julia Donaldson uses Descriptive words. I got Owl this is my poster I hope you like it.

Niue numbers up to 20.

This week we have a country each to study on in Math and Reading I am in Kina and Kina got Niue. So what we have to do is count to 20 in our language and we have to make a presentation this is my one I hope you like it and click on the music button so you can hear how to to say it.

Tangaroa God of the Ocean.

In reading we are learning about Myths and Legends and Gods for Kina we have the god of the Ocean Tangaroa. Did you know that Tangaroa is the son of God of Sky and Mother earth. i hope you learn something about Tangaroa like I did.

Camp Raglan was unusual enough

Camp Raglan was unusual enough it had

A flying fox, Archery, Cabins, And a sky over it,

and even a Hammock I didn’t go to much.

My Twin Sister, my Friends and I did what Friends do - Played on the SeeSaw for hours ,

Named the sheep, Go for long walks, Play on the slide, Shot the target in Archery, Or just stayed in the cabins and talked

-Doing what BFF’s do.

Niue by Kirsten

In reading and Math we are learning different countries and language. In Kina we are studding Niue. I have learnt how to count to 20 and did you know that Niue is the only country that you can swim whales with. I really enjoyed learning about this Niue and I hope you enjoy learning about it to because Niue is a very interesting country.

Camp Raglan.

The Bear of Camp Raglan.

We arrive at our destination and the view was beautiful and it was sunny  everyone started putting sunscreen on and we start the activities I was with Biqi, Kate, Ridhi, Sakshi, Kaia and a few others. We start with archery (my favourite!) we take out our first arrow and we all let go and realized I wanted to go a thousand times but we had to go to the next activity.  After a few hours it gets dark we go to our cabins it was 8:00 so we still had an hour to read and talk then suddenly we hear a ROAR!! Kate, Sakshi, Biqi, Ridhi and I went next door and asked if they heard that  ROAR! They said they did.  Tomorrow we will search for some clues Biqi said. It was the next day and we had breakfast everyone was very sleepy (especially the teachers) It took about 15 min to finish breakfast. We all went outside to get fresh air when we heard a scream it was Ridhi and Biqi we all ran to see if they was ok  I think I know what that noise was Biqi said then she pointed to a paw print on the grass I think it was a bear whispered Ridhi. Cool this is so awesome!!  Kate said. Our first clue said Biqi and look there’s a track. They went outside to do the night activities it wasn’t long till the heard ROAR! Oh great it was  the bear back inside every one said the teachers but  Kate, Sakshi, Biqi, Ridhi and I didn’t hear because they were far away so they couldn’t hear them. Then Sakshi said ewww! someone has bad breath not me said Biqi or me said Kate not me they all said I’ll put the flashlight on I said then there was a big bear in front of us! Fish breath whispered Biqi to Kate yeah Fish Breath! Said Kate hey! I like that name FISH BREATH! That can be your nickname FISH BREATH! Laughed Kate Then the bear started crying then it stopped then Roared Kaia said I think it’s a black bear everyone act big and  be really loud OK Yelled Kaia OK said everyone excepted Kate who was acting dead on the ground, Kate!!! Kaia yelled do you want to die! Or not? I’d rather die than get eaten by the bear then suffer from pain well you have no chose Kate on on act big OK said Kaia. Suddenly teachers came up to us and grabbed us and started… walking and the bear was chasing us. The teachers said we forgot to tell you there was a bear. Some people were screaming and panicking then some girls l walked out into the darkness and all the teachers were shouting get that kid out of the dark then we heard silence the group of girls came back in and it was Ridhi, Sakshi, Biqi, Kate, Kaia and Me. We said that we put the bear back into it’s cave we put a  whole giant bag of sleeping dust Kate added and clapping her hands at the same time in the end they had a good time.  



In PCS all the year 5 and 6 get to go to Camp for 3 days! to honest I am a little scared and nervous because it's my first time leaving my parents. so in room 4 we got to write a narrative about camp Rugland I wrote mine on if there was a bear in camp Raglan. I hope you like it.

I can gobble up a packet of raspberry flavored sherbet.

Anne of Green Gables.

This week in reading we had to do a novel study I chose to do Anne of Green Gables Anne's really funny. I enjoyed doing the 5 question interview because I put the answer for Anne and I could imagine what she would answer. Anne is a VERY talkative girl and she's funny she's spunky and is a dreamer. i would recommend this book to you if you are mysterious.

Roald Dahl

In Room 4 we are studying about Roald Dahl because it is nearly his birthday! I learnt that Roald Dahl's First book was James and the GIANT peach which he wrote in 1961. Right now Mrs P is reading us the Twits. So I hope you like it and if you haven't tried Roald Dahl's book try it and you will love it!

Cookbook Reflection.

For making our Cookbook I have learnt…

I learnt how to work out the cost to make the Cookbook and how much we would make if we sold it for $10.00 or $13.95.

I have learnt how to manage the money for our Cookbook and keep record.

I learnt how to use, send an Invoice and let the parents/Customers know when they will be paying the money and when it is Due.

So what I really enjoyed and found interesting was…

Making the Invoices because it was really interesting and it was my first time and of course I just love trying new things.

Since our topic was healthy living we made a Cookbook. We had to make a reflection on what we have learnt and what we found interesting. I learnt how to work out the cost of materials and how much we would make if we sold it for this much or that much. What I enjoyed was making invoices for parents.

We have just learnt how to make a Qr Codes to link our work. You can download an app called Qr Code scanner on any device android or apple device and if you run your scanner over it will take you straight to the URL where you have linked it to.

Rio De Janeriro

In reading we were learning about Rio De Janeiro. We had to learn about the flag, Environment and it's History. I learnt that in Rio De Janeiro has some Environment issues like Acid Rain (You can find the meaning of Acid Rain on the Keyword page) I hope you learn a lot to.

Joy Cowley.

This week I am learning about Joy Cowley. I learnt that Joy Cowley was not good at school she said that school was boring so she drew in her book and she got in a lot of trouble. Happy Birthday 80th Joy Cowley.

Monday, 23 1845,

Dear Mysterious Diary,

Yesterday I had one of the most mysterious mysteries a young lady came and knocked on the door she explained why she was here, she said that 2 years ago her older sister had died mysteriously and she said that her last word were Band . The window was locked so was the door but how did the snake get in? I kept asking myself that. Today we found out that the meaning of her sister’s last words (which was band ) ment the speckled band that was the band that the doctor had to control the snake and this is how the snake got in the pipe that was broken the snake slithered into it to get into the room where her sister was. The snake that bite her was a snake that if it bites you would die and if they try to find any traces of venom it would be invisible so they could not find any poison.  This mystery is done

In Reading we had to do a Novel Study I chose to do Sherlock Holmes I made a Diary about what happend on The Adventure of Speckled Band I am imagining that I am Dr Watson writing in his Diary.

Fun Holiday Shake.

Ingredients.

1. 5 cups of Fun
2. 1 tablespoon of Sport
3. 1 cup of Support
4. 5 tablespoons of Joy
5. 50 grams of Teamwork
6. 2 cups of Friends
7. Water
8. Ice

Method

1. Put 5 cups of Fun.
2. Then put 1 glass of Water
3. Blend
4. Put the 50 grams of Teamwork in the shake
5. 5 tablespoons of Joy
6. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of Sport
7. Blend again
8. Add 5 ice cubes
9. Put 2 cups of Friends
10. Then put 1 cup of Support
11. Blend for last time then there you go!

Making Kumara Chips

In Reading my group has bean studding Kumara today we have made Kumamra Chips it was really fun. My group and I have made a Presentation on how to make Kumara with picture. Please try the recipe and I hope you enjoy it. Yum! Yum! top it of with some salt or Sour Cream.

In room 4 we had to learn about the ears. I learnt that ear wax fights of infection and ear wax is made out of fat. This is my presentation on ears. I hope you learn something.

Term 2 Goals 3 Way Conference Way.

On June 2 it was 3 way Conference Way (I was really nervous but I shouldn't because it was my Birthday!) I was shaking then it was my turn I was sort of getting confident. I felt proud after I was done.

Have A Go Day.

Yesterday we had a Have A Go Day we played: Handball,Turbo Touch, Rippa Rugby, Futsal, Ultimate Frisbee. My favourite sport was Futsal because it was a new game for me, I liked it because I scored 2 goals and it was fun. You should try Futsal it is a fun and amazing game to play.

History of Papakura Marae.

In Reading we have learnt about the history of the Papakura Marea. We had to make a presentation on any digital media, I made my presentation on Powtoon. I learnt that the anchor stone held the ability of waka, I hope you enjoy it.

Time Management.

Our presentation is about Time Management and what it looks like we made this with our group, there is 5 points included. In maths we have been learning about Google maps and how to use it. I learnt that Google maps can direct you to the place you want to go to.
